Commercial Roof Insulation

If you are getting a section of roof replaced you may consider also having insulation added to your roof.

The main type of insulation used on commercial projects is Anti-condensation blanket (or Anticon). It can also be known as Builder’s blanket and is a combination of glasswool and aluminium foil. Anticon has been designed for temperature and noise control in buildings with metal roofs.

Please be aware that insulation blanket cannot be retro-fitted to an existing roof!

Commercial Roof Downpipes

Downpipes are highly important but often overlooked. They are essential in draining rainwater away from the roof, down to the building’s drainage system.

There are three common downpipe issues found in commercial building:

1. Inadequate size – Existing downpipes may not be large enough to cope with the amount of water directed into them, thus causing overflow and potential leaks,
2. Insufficient quantity – When there are not enough downpipes installed, the box gutter is forced to overflow, again, potentially causing leaks, and
3. Blockages – Downpipes can be easily blocked by stray rubbish and debris.

Commercial Gutter & Sump Guards

These steel ‘mesh’ guards protect commercial gutters and  sumps from becoming blocked by debris or hail. They are installed over gutters and sumps (or downpipe outlets), providing a barrier which allows water to flow through whilst preventing debris and hail to do so.  They are particularly useful on commercial sites (such as shopping centres) where birds may go through rubbish and leave litter on the roof where it can collect and cause sump blockages
